Wednesday, November 22, 2023

BSP Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) Mr. Mark T. Robinson met with the Prime Minister, Hon. Mark Brown, Government officials, investors, and business and community leaders last week, acknowledging Cook Island’s integral role in BSP being the leading Pacific bank.

Mr. Robinson expressed his gratitude to the Cook Island’s Government for their commitment to regional cooperation and fostering an environment conducive to sustainable development. Stating, “The Cook Island’s Government has been crucial in the economic recovery and prosperity of Cook Islands, following border closures. The resilience of the people of Cook Islands and leadership by the Government has helped to stabilise and drive economic growth in Cook Islands and across the region.”

The Visit from BSPs GCEO endorsed BSP’s ongoing community investment with the largest and most reliable channel network with over 15 ATMs and over 500 EFTPOS terminals across Cook Islands, including the first EFTPoS terminal in Manihiki, in the northern islands.

During his keynote address at a client function Mr. Robinson acknowledged BSP staff for their continual efforts with the annual BSP Giving Tree. Delivered in partnership with Internal Affairs for over 15 years, the community initiative distributes approximately 600 Christmas presents to less fortunate children across Rarotonga and the outer islands. Mr. Robinson also affirmed BSP’s continued support for the Christmas Box by presenting Ms. Tina Iro, local businesswoman and Christmas Box lead, a $2,000 cheque to sponsor the 2023 program.

Mr. Robinson also spoke ardently about BSP’s Financial Literacy Program, stating “BSP is proud of our ongoing commitment to the vibrant Cook Island communities. Through our Financial Literacy Program, BSP has positively impacted the lives of thousands of Cook Islanders, helping them develop their budgeting and monetary management skills to improve their financial well-being.”

Furthermore, Robinson stated the importance of the bank’s position in Cook Islands and the immense gratitude he had for the connections to its people. “BSP is proud to help the Pacific connect to the world by facilitating trade, commerce and connecting our people. We take immense pride in being the bank of choice for many Cook Islands residents”.
